Peerapan is Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry Group and a corporate and M&A partner in the Bangkok office with specialties in highly regulated industries. Within the Bangkok office, she also co-leads Japan Advisory Group. Peerapan is exceptionally fluent in legal matters relating to healthcare and consumer. Peerapan has extensive experience assisting numerous leading healthcare clients on complex mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate structures and restructuring. Her long experience in the healthcare and life sciences industry and risk exposure in this heavily regulated industry allows her to bring commerciality and practicality to clients’ transactions and operations.
One of the most significant deals Peerapan has led recently is advising a multinational pharmaceutical company on licensing into the first biopharmaceutical company in Thailand and having their COVID-19 vaccine developed and manufactured in Thailand as a hub for Thai market and Southeast Asian countries under exceptional circumstances due to the existing government procurement framework. The work and solution reached for the client was unprecedented and the first of its kind in the context of government procurement as it involved Advance Market Commitment and no tangible product existed when the procurement was negotiated. It was under this exceptional context and significant challenge that team under Peerapan’s leadership were able to help the client successfully conclude the commercial contracts with the government agencies within the acceptable legal framework, leading to the Cabinet’s endorsement to secure the first 26 million doses of vaccines from the client.
